BVB also has to admit defeat

In addition to Bayern and Dortmund, other top European clubs such as Arsenal FC and Atlético Madrid had also been keeping a close eye on the talent. But Manchester City seems to have won the race for the youngster.

His coach Nick Cushing was impressed by McFarlane’s development and praised his attitude: “I’ve seen his personality and his character. I can see that Christian will claim the shirt for himself. I don’t want the boys to come and just wear the shirt, I want them to own it and earn it. He has worked incredibly hard on the training pitch.”

Both Manchester City and New York City FC belong to the City Football Group. This holding company unites a total of twelve clubs worldwide, which means that transfers between clubs within the group can be handled more smoothly.
