Lübeck – Every year, clubs from the region are happy about the donations from the Club111The Lübeck sports friends are making the coffers of several clubs ring, which urgently need this sponsorship. For eleven years, the members have always had their finger on the pulse and recognize good performances, especially in the promotion of young talent.

Handball gets the lion’s share

This year, it was mainly the handball players who qualified, even though VfL Lübeck-Schwartau lost Klub111 as the first sponsor last year after failed negotiations. Nevertheless, the money will go to VfL Lübeck-Schwartau Nachwuchsleistungssport gGmbH. In addition, the female youth B teams of VfL Bad Schwartau, MTV Lübeck, HSG Ostsee and SG Todesfelde/Leezen will receive a total of 36,300 euros in funding this season.

Young talent is becoming increasingly important: Klub111 recognizes this and is a pioneer

The club111 is putting more and more emphasis on the young talent, and said this at its round 80s … This was preceded by a presentation of the clubs in April of this year. The trend towards youth was clearly visible and the board implemented the members’ wishes. To achieve this, professional sport must generally expand.

VfB Lübeck youth supports and pays back with performance on the pitch

The largest share of the almost 100,000 euros per year VfB Lubeck“The project ‘Partner of the Youth’ is being initiated together with the board and the youth coordinators for the youth sector at VfB. The aim is to offer talented young people a perspective in football in Lübeck and thus to keep them in Lübeck. To this end, events are to be held with the sponsors of VfB in order to promote the youth performance squad in a more targeted manner,” the club 111 informed its members in a circular for this weekend and is following them in the vote. The Green-Whites play with the A, B and C youth teams in the regional league. The U17 is in third place there and the U15 selection just defeated the Bundesliga youth team of VfL Wolfsburg 4:2, taking fourth place.

Volleyball in Lübeck in the fast lane

How youth development works really well has been demonstrated in the recent past by the VSG Lübeck. With Tilo Rietschel Lübeck’s volleyball players not only have a 20-year-old talent in their ranks, but also a few more who are just “growing up”. Rietschel not only became U20 German champion in beach volleyball two years ago, but together with his partner Richard Peemüller managed to finish ninth in the professional ranks in Timmendorfer Strand. The VSG Lübeck men’s team plays in the 3rd league – and there too, it is increasingly relying on its own young players. It is not for nothing that the Hanseatic city recently became a state base. Klub111 is honoring this with a total of 10,000 euros.

Without U-Teams it will be difficult

American football is a must and has a lot to offer in Lübeck with the Pumas Tradition. Here too, youth work is becoming increasingly valuable. The men have just managed to stay in the GFL2, but in the future USC will have to rely more on its own young players. They are always represented in the highest leagues – U13 to U16 in the Regionalliga Nord, U20 GFLJ/Bundesliga Nord. The Lübecker Sportfreunde are providing 8,000 euros in funding.

Third place in international comparison

Frederic Schüle and Catharina Jacobs are considered promising talents among the LYC sailors, and the Lübeck Yacht Club represented in the 2nd Sailing Bundesliga – with a very young squad. In the youth sector, Schüle/Jacobs (catamaran Nacra15) compete in international, European competitions in the “Super Series” and the World Championships. They took third place in the Super Series in 2023. Klub111 is also involved here with 8,000 euros.

Sustainability is the key to success

Business people, companies and private individuals have been involved in Klub111 for more than a decade. In addition to promoting sport, networking is important in the club. Through additional events, such as the “Schlagerboat”, Klub111 generated additional financial resources for sponsoring clubs with sustainability.
