Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, August 31, 2024?

It’s Labor Day weekend, which means we’re getting closer and closer to the end of summer—and the beginning of another season of Saturday Night Live.

After the finale on May 18, the cast members of season 49 toured the country with their comedy. Sarah Sherman starred in her own live show, Sarah Squirm: Live + in the fleshwhile the other actors James Austin Johnson, Devon Walker and Andrew Dismukes provided laughs with their Summer Jobs TourAnd it’s not too late to see Ego Nwodim and Heidi Gardner headline the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Connecticut on September 6.

During the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris SNL Season 49 cast members Nwodim, Gardner, Mikey Day and Marcello Hernández traveled to the City of Lights to talk about the upcoming 50th season, so it’s safe to say everyone had a great summer.

Outside of their summer tours, the cast and crew also received critical acclaim from the Television Academy. The show received 18 Emmy nominations for the 2023-2024 season, including for Best Scripted Variety Series.

Is Saturday Night Live re-released tonight, August 24, 2024?

NO.

NBC will SNL Episode from December 16, 2023 hosted by Kate McKinnon with musical guest Billie Eilish.

This episode was very special because although McKinnon was a cast member of SNL for 11 seasons from 2012 to 2022, it was her first time hosting.

“My name is Kate,” she told the excited crowd during her opening monologue. “I used to work here and now I’m back at my old job! It’s so weird doing ‘the monologue.’ I don’t like speaking in my own voice – that’s the reason I got into this business in the first place.”

The hilarious episode featured cameo appearances from colleagues SNL former cast members Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, who supported McKinnon in her opening monologue, as well as standout sketches such as “ABBA Christmas” and “Tampon Farm.”

This was Eilish’s third musical appearance at SNLafter first appearing in 2019 and then again in 2021, when she served as both host and musical guest. For the December 16 episode, Eilish sang “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie Soundtrack and covered the Christmas classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.
