Emergency doctor lowered from helicopter to motorcyclist

An emergency doctor was lowered from a helicopter in the Wellbachtal near Annweiler (Southern Weinstrasse district) to treat a seriously injured motorcyclist. One of the reasons was that the motorcyclist from the St. Wendel district in Saarland was in an inaccessible location, police in Landau said. The 34-year-old was transported to a lamp, where he was then flown to a hospital by rescue helicopter.

The motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle in a long left-hand bend on the B48 from Rinnthal towards Johanniskreuz. He fell and slid across the road and onto the curb, where his motorcycle was thrown against the embankment. He suffered serious injuries to his shoulder and chest. The B48 had to be closed completely several times. At the scene of the accident, the speed limit is no faster than 50 km/h.
