The new Harry Potter game on Steam is played completely wrong because players know the films

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions brings the popular magical sport into a standalone game. Players can compete in different roles, but the rules have changed compared to the films and are causing discussions in the community.

What kind of game is this? In Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions you can prove your skills in the popular sports game from the world of Harry Potter and see if you have what it takes to become world champion.

You can control various Quidditch teams and characters from the series, including Seekers, Chasers and Beaters. As in the films, you can also capture the Golden Snitch. However, this is precisely the point that has caused some debate among players.

Quidditch Champions should be played like in the movie

Why is the game played wrong? Many players play Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions incorrectly because they have the rules from the movies and books in their heads. In the original Quidditch rules from the Harry Potter series, catching the Golden Snitch is worth 150 points and ends the game immediately, which often makes the other players’ certainty seem unimportant since goals are only worth 10 points.

However, in Quidditch Champions, this system has been revised. The Snitch is now only worth 30 points, and the game only ends when one team has reached 100 points. Many players expect the Snitch to continue to be as crucial as it is in the movies, and are still frustrated when their teammates, especially the Beaters, do not do enough to stop the opposing Seeker.

What are the opinions within the community? After just two days, the Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions community is already buzzing with discussion, especially among players who take on the role of Beater. Many users on Reddit are frustrated that some Beaters don’t take their job seriously and fail to stop the opposing Seeker from catching the Golden Snitch.

The user trainerfly_1 therefore pleads on Reddit: If you’re playing Beater… for heaven’s sake, please go to the Seeker as soon as the Snitch appears. Another user complains on Reddit: There’s nothing more frustrating than a Seeker whose team does it well while my team doesn’t. I’m flying around the board while the other Seeker just relaxes and chases the Snitch.

However, the completely opposite opinion can be found, especially in the discussions about the game on Steam. Some players describe how many of them cling too closely to the films and do not see the gameplay of the drivers as problematic, but rather criticize the players who cling too closely to the original.
