Victory in “El Clasico”: UFC Wettmannstätten wins in Preding and continues the winning streak – Football Styria – Results, tables and scorers from all STMK leagues.

UFC Wettmannstätten extended its winning streak and beat FC Erhart Preding 3:2. Despite a red card in the final minutes, the guests managed to score the decisive goal shortly before the final whistle. Both teams put in an impressive performance, but ultimately UFC Gewinnspielstätten came out on top.

Balanced first half

The game started at a high pace and the first goal was scored after just 21 minutes. Timothy Lorber from UFC Wettmannstätten scored to give the visitors the lead. The assist was provided by Tilen PungarsekThis early lead put FC Preding under pressure, but the home team did not let this deter them and looked for an equaliser.

In the 33rd minute the moment finally came: Manuel Jagersbacher scored the equalizer for FC Erhart Preding. He scored from the penalty spot. The game was now open again and both teams fought hard to take the lead. Shortly before half-time, in the 43rd minute, Timothy Lorber – after a pass from Pungarsek – and brought UFC Wettmannstätten back into the lead with his second goal of the evening. The visitors went into the dressing room with a score of 2:1.

Dramatic final phase

The second half began just as intensely as the first. FC Erhart Preding pushed for the equalizer and was rewarded in the 60th minute. The Predinger Marco Michael Maurer tore off a cross and it landed in the far corner to make it 2-2. This goal brought back hope of a home win. The party was now completely open again and both teams were looking for the decision.

In the 89th minute there was a decisive scene: Martin Lazarus scored to make it 3-2 for the guests – again after an assist from Pungarsek. This late goal put UFC Wettmannstätten on the road to victory. But the drama was not over yet. In the 90th minute, coach René Pojer from UFC Wettmannstätten the red card. Leaving the coaching zone is the most serious offence a coach can commit and is punished without mercy. After 96 minutes, the referee blew the final whistle and the guests were able to celebrate a hard-fought 3:2 victory.

Tilen Pungarsek scored all three goals

The UFC Wettmannstätten showed an impressive performance that evening and proved that they can hold their own even in difficult situations. Despite the defeat, FC Erhart Preding will be able to take some positive aspects from this game. Both teams demonstrated their quality and offered the spectators an exciting and entertaining football game.
