German “The Walking Dead” fans have to do without “Daryl Dixon” opening

While US audiences can already stream the first episode of the “Daryl Dixon” sequel, we still have to be patient.

Anyone who is addicted to sophisticated zombie entertainment in this country has to deal with one setback after another: Netflix recently announced that it would be adding various “The Walking Dead” series to its offerings – but not in Germany. Now we are also denied the first eleven minutes of the second “Daryl Dixon” season.

Admittedly, it is already a step forward that “Daryl Dixon” Season 2 will premiere in the USA and Germany at the end of September this year. We had to accept a delay of several weeks in the first season in this country. There is still a small downside, though, because overseas AMC+ subscribers can watch the first eleven minutes before the new episodes start. Since the streaming service is not available for the German market, we will have to forego this first impression. Instead, all we can do is take a look at the official trailer:

Anyone who wants to see Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) and Carol’s (Melissa McBride) return will have to wait until the season 2 premiere on 30 September 2024 at MagentaTV. The first eleven minutes can occasionally be found on YouTube, but the channels do not own the rights to the material. In order not to support the illegal actions of the people uploading them, you should not click on these videos. Another thing you should avoid is VPN access. This would allow you to move your location to the USA and thus take out a free trial membership with AMC+ – but that is not legal.

What happens in the first 11 minutes of the “Daryl Dixon” sequel?

We can tell you this much: There will be no time jump between seasons 1 and 2. The new episodes pick up where the previous finale left Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. The first few minutes are devoted to the events in France: Daryl teaches his protégé Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) how to defend himself against walkers. The leader of the nest However, they do not approve of it. While Laurent is supposed to devote himself to his education, Daryl is reprimanded by Losang (Joel de la Fuente).

Previously, the residents of Mont-Saint-Michel held an emergency meeting. According to a report from Paris, three members of the Union of Hope from Living Power kidnapped to obtain information about nest – Martin Fournier, Fallou Boukar (Eriq Ebouaney) and Emile Thibault (Tristan Zanchi). This particularly upsets Sylvie (Laïka Blanc-Francard), who has feelings for the latter. But instead of sending a rescue team, Losang tells his people to be patient. Will Sylvie, Daryl and Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) accept this?

Meanwhile, Carol has gone to the east coast of the USA to search for Daryl. In the town of Freeport in the US state of Maine, she has found her first hot lead: Daryl’s motorcycle. A not entirely non-violent conversation with its new owner Mick (Paul Zies) finally leads her to the very farm that is responsible for Daryl’s disappearance. Under a pretext, Carol turns to the men who work there, who are not on good terms with Daryl. When it becomes too much for Carol, she grabs her crossbow to blackmail them for information. Eventually they come out with the truth: French forces have kidnapped Daryl – along with a whole series of American biters – to France. In order to get to the boat graveyard mentioned, Carol hijacks a car. But when she looks out at the ocean, disappointment is written all over her face…
