PV Anvar changes target, says Ajith Kumar met RSS leader for VD Satheesan

Malappuram: Nilambur MP PV Anvar on Friday fired a fresh barrage of allegations, alleging that VD Satheesan has close links with the RSS. He alleged that ADGP MR Ajith Kumar’s meeting with RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale in Thrissur was on the orders of the opposition leader. He further alleged that Satheesan had called an emergency press conference in a hurry and accused Ajith Kumar after realising that Anvar had received this information.

Anvar also accused Satheesan of trying to divert attention from an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into the Punarjani case by blaming the Chief Minister for sending the ADGP to meet the RSS leader. The MP made these allegations after making a statement to Thrissur Range DIG Thomson Jose at the Malappuram Guest House regarding his complaint to the Chief Minister. Punarjani is a flood rehabilitation scheme being implemented in Satheesan’s Paravur constituency. Allegations had surfaced that Satheesan had illegally received foreign aid for the project.

“Satheesan will be caught soon. If he has not committed any fraud, he should write to the ED and demand an investigation. I request him to do so. I will be honest and disclose everything during my statement and hand over all the evidence. I am collecting more evidence,” Anvar said.

The MP alleged that Satheesan was trying to shift the blame for the ADGP-RSS meeting onto Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Anvar accused the ADGP of having links with both the RSS and the UDF and alleged that they were creating problems to harm the government and the Left. He also alleged that the ADGP had sabotaged the investigation into the Punarjani case against Satheesan.

Satheesan made the allegation on August 22 after it was alleged that the ADGP had tapped his phone. Anvar claimed that the emergency press conference was called at the behest of the ADGP. “If P. Sasi questions the relationship between Satheesan and the ADGP during the testimony, I will disclose everything. I will hand over all the evidence I have against the ADGP to the investigation team,” Anvar said.

Anvar also mentioned that he continues to receive evidence through a new WhatsApp number that he has released for collecting complaints against the police. He claimed to have received around 200 pieces of information through this number, claiming that 10 percent of the police force in the district consists of criminals who handle complaints. Anvar said that all complaints received through WhatsApp from party members are verified and if found credible, they are forwarded to the chief minister.
