Johnny Depp shows off his new smile after treating his “rotten” teeth

Johnny Depp’s dental health seems to be a hot topic, as the actor has apparently acquired new pearly white teeth after strong reactions on the Internet.

Depp, 61, faced criticism last year after photos of him at the Cannes Film Festival emerged and fans commented on social media about his “rotten” teeth.

In some pictures his teeth were covered in dirty brown stains.

“Johnny Depp’s teeth are literally rotting,” wrote one fan at the time next to photos of the actor.

Some said they were disgusted.

“When I saw the picture of Johnny Depp’s teeth on my [timeline] just ruined my mood,” noted another.

Now the actor seems to have undergone a makeover on the inside of his mouth as well. A video of him has surfaced showing what appears to be a major dental transformation.

The video was posted on Instagram by a bartender, according to PageSix, and shows Depp on vacation in the Bahamas. The footage shows Depp enjoying himself at a beach bar.

“He definitely got his teeth done! He looks so good,” one person wrote.

Citing a 1995 interview with Premiere magazine, PageSix said Depp once admitted that his dental hygiene was inadequate.

“I have a lot of holes,” he told Premiere earlier. “I had a root canal eight years ago and it’s still ongoing. It’s like a rotten little stump.”

In recent years, Depp has often made headlines – but not only because of his teeth.

In 2022, he faced a defamation trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard. He ultimately sued Heard for $50 million in connection with allegations she made when she wrote a 2018 Washington Post op-ed about being a victim of domestic violence.

Heard then filed a countersuit, demanding, among other things, $100 million in damages.

However, a seven-member jury awarded Depp $15 million in damages. The jury decided that Depp should receive $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

“My life, the lives of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also the lives of those who have supported and believed in me for many, many years have been changed forever,” Depp posted on Instagram just moments after the verdict. “All in a split second. False, very serious and criminal allegations were made against me through the media, which triggered an endless flood of hateful content, even though no charges were ever brought against me. It had already traveled around the world twice in a nanosecond and had a seismic impact on my life and career.”

“And six years later, the jury gave me my life back,” he added. “I feel truly humbled. My decision to pursue this case, despite being well aware of the level of legal hurdles that would be faced and the inevitable global upheaval in my life, was made after careful consideration.

Depp also noted that the goal of the trial was “to bring the truth to light, regardless of the outcome. Telling the truth was something I owed to my children and to all those who have continued to support me unwaveringly. I feel comfortable knowing that I have finally accomplished that.”

The jury also ruled in favor of Heard, who said she was defamed by Depp’s lawyer when he called her abuse allegations a hoax. They found she should receive $2 million.

Heard later filed a motion for a mistrial. Her lawyers argued that there appeared to be a case of mistaken identity with one of the jurors. However, the judge dismissed all allegations.

Depp rose to fame in the 1980s through roles in 21 Sprungstrasse And Nightmare on Elm StreetHe is best known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in pirates of the Caribbean Films and Edward Scissorhands.

He also plays guitar in Hollywood Vampires, a rock band he founded in 2012 with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
