Lots to see – Successful start for the colorful city festival in Wiener Neustadt

On Thursday, the Wiener Neustadt instrumentalists under the direction of Michael Salamon thrilled the audience with a brilliant program at the 6th “Concert for Wiener Neustadt” on the main square. And there was also a premiere, as for the first time a choir was on stage with them.

Singer Marie-Luise Engel-Schottleitner – sang a beautiful “Spring Voices Waltz” – rehearsed Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” with a project choir. Two local composers were also represented in the program, Daniel Hecher with “Federrausch” and Maria Salamon with “Trotzdem tanzen”.

Among the many guests at the main square, which was filled to the last seat, were the “master of the house”, Mayor Klaus Schneeberger, and almost the entire city government, the Tschepper family, Toni and Lisa Urban, Sibylle Rasinger from the Lower Austrian Cancer Aid, the head of Education Region 6 Heinz Kerschbaumer and Walter Sengstschmid.

On Friday there was a varied program in the city center during the day, from live music to numerous stands and the “School Day” on the main square. On Saturday there was also a lot to see and hear in the pedestrian zones (details of the program in the link below and here), in the evening the grand finale on the main square stage follows with Seven2Eight Dance, followed by the Backdoor Blues Band and the main act Insieme – Italo Pop with Monika Ballwein, Christian Deix, the Mexican tenor Rene Velazquez-Diaz and Italo bard Erik Arno.
