France vs Italy: Who will win?

The first matchday of the Nations League season is upon us and it’s a duel between France and Italy. At the 2024 European Championship in Germany, neither nation could be satisfied with their performance. France started the tournament with the mission of winning the title, but had to bury all hopes in the semifinals. The eventual European champions Spain proved to be too strong for the French team led by superstar Kylian Mbappé.

Italy had problems in the group stage, but managed to qualify for the round of 16. There, however, the Squadra Azzurra had no chance against Switzerland, who ultimately deservedly won 2-0 and knocked Italy out of the tournament.

In the Nations League, both associations are in League A, Group Two. In addition to France and Italy, Belgium and Israel are also involved. The French are certainly the favorites going into the preliminary round, but Italy and Belgium in particular can trip up the Équipe Tricolore.
