The Bassmaster Elite Series returns to Lake Fork for the second time

EAST TEXAS, Texas (KLTV) – The 2025 Bassmaster schedule has been released and the competition returns to Lake Fork in East Texas for the second year in a row.

BASS announced that the 2025 season will include nine events in seven states on a variety of waters to celebrate the trail’s 20th anniversary.

“There’s no better way to celebrate 20 years of elite competition than to put together a schedule that includes some of the best bass fishing in the world. This year’s events will challenge and inspire our anglers with a range of venues that highlight the rich diversity of bass fishing,” said BASS CEO Chase Anderson. “It’s going to be fun to follow.”

The Texas events begin May 8-11 in a fishing area that made it into the top 10 of 2024. Bass Master Magazine – List of the 100 best bass lakes. Elite Illinois angler and future 2024 Dakota Lithium Bassmaster Rookie of the Year Trey McKinney became the youngest angler to win an Elite Series event at age 19 when he took home the blue trophy on Lake Fork. It was also just McKinney’s second Elite Series event.

McKinney managed a massive total catch of 130 pounds, 15 ounces in four days, just 1 pound, 9 ounces shy of the all-time record for total weight in a four-day BASS event set by Paul Elias on Falcon Lake in Texas in 2008. McKinney began the event fishing in 20 to 30 feet of water and ended up fishing in 4 feet of water as they moved away from the woods toward shore.

Next up for the Elites is the Sabine River in Orange, Texas, May 15-18. Veteran Elite angler Brock Mosley of Collinsville, Mississippi, won the 2023 event here with a total of 44-3, outscoring runner-up Clark Wendlandt by nearly 3 pounds. A blade jig and topwater popper, backed by a Texas-rig Senko, were Mosley’s power-fishing trio that took the title.

New this year: The non-information requirement for tournament waters comes into force on January 1, 2025 at 00:01.

“I am excited about the diverse and exciting schedule we have put together for 2025,” said Lisa Talmadge, Tournament Director of the Elite Series. “We can’t wait to bring the passion and skill of our competitors to each tournament. I believe this season will be truly unforgettable.”

In 2025, fans will be able to watch live coverage of all nine Bassmaster Elite Series events as well as coverage of the Bassmaster Classic on Bassmaster.com.
