First picture and information leaked – this is what is known

Somehow the PS5 Pro was already an open secret, now a well-known leaker has published a first picture with information about the new console.

San Francisco, USA – There have been rumors about an improved version of the PS5 for a long time, and now the first picture of the console has been leaked. All new information and how certain the leak is can be found on ingame.de.

Leak says: Design is set, reminiscent of the PS5 Slim

What is now known about the PS5 Pro? There is a picture of the new console from Sony for the first time. Although it is only a drawing, it is said to be the final design:

It also now seems certain that the console will actually be called “PS5 Pro”. According to leaker “billbil-kun”, the design comes from a picture of the front view of a packaging box. The design was converted into a drawing to avoid copyright issues.

The design is very similar to that of the PS5 Slim, but with three stripes in the middle. The Pro also looks a bit thicker than the Slim. At the moment, the leaker can only confirm a version without a disc drive. It remains unclear whether there will be a version with a disc. There are no further technical details. Another leak predicts 2 TB of storage space for the PS5 Pro.

PS5 Pro: Announcement & Controller

When will the console be announced? The leaker suspects that the console will be presented in the first half of September. However, the manufacturer Sony has not yet provided any information on this. At gamescom, there were already indications of an imminent announcement. There is also speculation about a PlayStation showcase in September.

Is anything changing with the Dual Sense? It doesn’t look like that at the moment. According to billbil-kun, the PS5 Pro controller is a normal Dual Sense, like the one included with the PS5 Slim and the standard PS5.

How safe is the leak? The information comes from the well-known leaker “billbil-kun”, who correctly predicted the contents of PS Plus in 2023 for many months. He also keeps providing advance information about Sony products that turn out to be correct in retrospect. It remains a leak, there is no 100% certainty.
