Letter to the editor: Anton Bruckner – 200 years old and so young

No confectioner in the world – although there are many very good ones between Linz and St. Florian – could have baked our Anton Bruckner a finer, more subtle birthday cake than the one given to him by all of Upper Austria and almost the entire world on this September 4, 2024. On this day, we were able to feel the joy, the heavenly musicality and the infinite spirituality of this musician and composer deep in and out of our hearts.

What an emotional and spiritual lightening from the (in)human depths of our reality rose up on this day in a “groundbreaking” way. What a beautiful ABC for our Anton Bruckner: Anton, Ansfelden, Old Cathedral, Basilica Stift Florian, Brucknerhaus, Bruckner Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Dachstein, Danube bank, Franz Welser-Möst, Kronstorf, Mariendom, Markus Poschner, Notre Dame, ORF broadcast, organ breakfast, the Romantic, Steyr, dancing on the sunlit monastery meadow, Te Deum with world stars, Windhaag, … the 9th, the Unfinished!
