Huawei smartwatch adopts Apple Watch design – with great advantage

Huawei launched a very special smartwatch two years ago with the Watch D. This is the first watch that can measure blood pressure properly. Unfortunately, the design wasn’t particularly attractive. That could change with the Watch D2. Huawei is probably taking its cues from the Apple Watch again.

Huawei Watch D2 in Apple Watch design?

Huawei is one of the largest smartwatch manufacturers in the world. We recently reported that the Chinese company has dethroned Apple. Huawei probably owes this primarily to cheaper models with longer battery life. But this success also enables special models. These include A Watch D2 that could get a reissue on September 19, 2024 – at least that’s what HuaweiCentral speculates.

Huawei has shared a teaser image of an unknown smartwatch on social media, which A continuous blood pressure measurement shows. Since the Watch D is the only watch from the Chinese manufacturer that can do this, it is assumed that it is the Watch D2. However, this comes in a completely new design that is reminiscent of the Apple Watch:

Compared to the old watch, which you can see in our video, this would be a gigantic step, because every other smartwatch looks better than the Watch D. But see for yourself:

The biggest question will be whether Huawei will give the Watch D2 a new design and a different method of measuring blood pressure. The first generation pumps up the bracelet and you get a really reliable result. Samsung, on the other hand, does it completely differently, namely with a measurement via sensors and a calibration via a normal blood pressure monitor.

At least in the teaser image I can see a shadow on the wristband on the left side, which could indicate that the inflatable wristband will remain. Huawei will show what it really looks like by September 19, 2024 at the latest. No matter what happens, The Apple Watch cannot measure blood pressure at all.
