Square 1 Media announces debate on mortgage market in 2024

“The recent elections seemed a fantastic opportunity to bring the industry together to discuss views and lessons learned from the first months of a new administration.”
– Paul Hunt, CEO of Square 1 Media

Specialist PR and marketing agency Square 1 Media has announced details of the Mortgage Market Debate 2024, which will take place in London on 20 November.

The event format is a 90-minute panel discussion at Chatham House, covering all the current talking points and issues facing the UK mortgage and specialist finance market. The panel discussion is invitation-only and will take place in front of an audience of senior decision-makers from lenders and corporates across the market.

The topic of the session is: “What do you think so far? What should happen next? The UK mortgage and property market five months after the Labour government came to power.”

The panel will be chaired by Victoria Hartley, Head of Client Services at Square 1 Media.

The committee consists of:

– Simon Allsop: Chief Financial Officer of Chetwood Bank,
– Esther Dijkstra: Managing Director for Intermediaries at Lloyds Banking Group,
– Charles Roe: Director of Mortgages at UK Finance,
– Barry Carter: CEO of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society,
– Hamish Simmie, Deputy Director of Residential Property Research and Advisory at Savills.

The venue is the Honourable Society of The Inner Temple.

Lead sponsor CLSQ is a real estate data, technology and insurance provider with a proven track record of identifying, analysing and mitigating risk in over 25% of all UK lending. Other sponsors include Cherry, finova, Pegasus Insight and Qualis Credit Risk.

Paul Hunt, Managing Director of Square 1 Media, commented: “We have been planning the next one for some time since we held the first mortgage market debate in May last year, so the recent election seemed like a fantastic opportunity to bring the industry together to discuss views and lessons learned from the first months of a new administration.

“A big thank you to all the panelists who have confirmed their participation and we look forward to a lively and entertaining debate.”

Spencer Wyer, Strategic Development Director at CLSQ, said: “I attended the inaugural Mortgage Market Debate with a colleague and we were really impressed by the number of senior decision makers in the room as well as the level of open and honest debate. At CLSQ we are launching some exciting initiatives in the coming months that we believe will fundamentally change the industry. Sponsoring the Mortgage Market Debate gives us the opportunity to connect with the right people whilst also attending one of the few mortgage events specifically tailored to executive level participants.”

“I would like to thank Square 1 Media for organizing such a unique event in the mortgage industry and inviting CLSQ as a major sponsor.”
