JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown woman who was involved in a standoff with police Tuesday is now facing charges after she was found in possession of suspected drugs at the city jail.

Jamestown Police Report Kylah Seiberg, 29, of Jamestown was receiving medical attention while in the custody of Jamestown police on Wednesday when Seiberg was found to have planted 7 grams of fentanyl in her system and taken to the city jail. She was also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence. Seiberg and Vazquez were arraigned today by Judge John LaMancuso in Jamestown Municipal Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail. A felony hearing has been scheduled for a later date.

City police announced Wednesday that charges have been filed against Jensen Vazquez, 38, and Kylah Seiberg, 29, both of Jamestown, after an attempt to charge the two as a result of a shooting investigation lasting several weeks has now also opened a drug trafficking investigation. The address – 84 Victoria Ave., Jamestown – is also the site of an Aug. 17 shooting.

On Tuesday at 12:42 p.m., Jamestown Police were dispatched to 84 Victoria Avenue for a report of a burglary. Officers were advised that unknown individuals were present in one of the apartments.

As part of that investigation, officers executed a search warrant for the upstairs apartment at 84 Victoria Avenue and a vehicle associated with one of the apartment’s residents. During the search, investigators found 111.9 grams of methamphetamine, 23.3 grams of powder cocaine, 9.4 grams of crack, 66.5 grams of fentanyl, and a 9mm handgun. No charges were filed at the time the search warrant was executed because the apartment’s residents, identified by police as Kylah Seiberg and Jensen Vazquez, fled the scene.

As the investigation into the burglary continued, it was discovered that Seiberg and Vazquez had returned to the residence nearly two weeks later. Seiberg was arrested fairly quickly by patrol, but Vazquez refused to leave the residence. It was reported that Vazquez had armed himself with a firearm and part of the residence was barricaded, making it difficult to enter the home. The Jamestown Police Department SWAT team was called to the scene to assist in the arrest of Vazquez, as he currently has a warrant out of the U.S. District Court of Western New York for violating his federal probation. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office also responded with their SWAT team to assist. After several hours and the use of chemical munitions to get Vazquez to surrender peacefully, he continued to refuse to leave the residence. The Jamestown SWAT team eventually entered the apartment after Judge John LaMancuso of the Jamestown Municipal Court issued a search warrant. Police report: Vazquez was found by SWAT personnel hiding under the insulation and floorboards of the attic and was arrested without further incident. As he left the scene, Vazquez yelled several obscenities toward passersby who saw him walking in handcuffs under police escort. A further search of the apartment revealed 65.3 grams of fentanyl in the same area where Vazquez was found by police.

Seiberg was also taken into custody on Tuesday, but she was only charged with what was found in the search warrant dated August 17, 2024. She was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Vazquez was charged with five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
