Handball Bundesliga: Melsungen makes the first statement

MT Melsungen made the first statement at the start of the Handball Bundesliga and left TBV Lemgo no chance on Thursday (05.09.2024). VfL Gummerbach won at Hannover-Burgdorf.

In Lemgo, the first half was relatively balanced, with the guests from Melsungen leading 13:11 after 30 minutes. Immediately after the break, Aaron Mensing and Dainis Krištopāns scored two goals within a minute, and the Hessians then secured a clear 28:20 victory.

Gummersbach with stronger performance

The game was similar between Hannover-Burgdorf and Gummersbach. At halftime the score was 15:15, but by the 36th minute the traditional team, with Kentin Mahé getting stronger and stronger, had pulled ahead to 20:17.

In the end, the guests deserved a 33:28 victory, with Gummersbach’s joy only slightly dampened by Mahé’s red card shortly before the end.
