The Spreewald with its idyllic canals in the north-east of Germany is a popular destination for holidaymakers – and now also the setting for a new Sat. 1-Series. Under the title “The Spreewald Clinic”, the station shows the big and small interpersonal stories surrounding the hospital in around 80 episodes. At the center of the story: Dr. Lea Wolff, who comes to the Spreewald Clinic as a doctor from Hamburg. But she is not only on a medical mission in the Spreewald, she is also looking for her daughter, whom she gave up for adoption 20 years ago.

The series is shown during the week on Sat.1This makes it the successor to the two early evening series “Die Landarztpraxis” and “Das Küstenrevier”, although there is already a second season of the first.

“The Spreewald Clinic” tells the story of the doctor Dr. Lea Wolff. 20 years ago she gave her daughter up for adoption, and now she is plagued by a guilty conscience. In order to find her daughter again, she sets off from Hamburg to the Spreewald and takes a job as a doctor in the clinic there. Here she finds professional fulfillment and works every day for the people in her new hometown. At her side are the head doctor Dr. Barbara Berg and the young nurse Nico, with whom Dr. Lea Wolff immediately gets along – perhaps the two women have more in common than just their workplace?

What is of course not to be missed for the corresponding price of drama is a complicated love story. This part is likely to be played by Lea’s childhood sweetheart Paul and the attractive Erik in “Die Spreewaldklinik”.
