TV farce about Brady! GOAT is locked out despite 5 million contract

TV farce about Brady! GOAT is locked out despite $375 million contract

NFL icon Tom Brady is finally starting his new multi-million dollar job as a TV pundit. But because that’s not enough for him, the league is imposing additional Brady bans.

He is celebrated as the greatest NFL player of all time and is now finally starting his new, multi-million dollar job as a TV pundit – but when the new NFL season begins on Friday night, Tom Brady is often told: No entry!

Because the change from the field behind the microphone of US broadcaster Fox Sports is not enough for the GOAT, and that brings some problems for the man who played 23 seasons in the best league in the world and won the Super Bowl trophy seven times.

Brady is banned from the NFL

It seems extremely questionable whether he will also be set standards in his new job – because despite his glorious past, Brady is in danger of becoming an expert without expertise.

That’s because the former star quarterback will simply miss the exclusive insights. The NFL teams’ training grounds? No access for Brady. The obligatory pre-game interviews with head coaches and key players by TV stations? No access for Brady.

NFL: Document specially created for Brady

The league informed the club owners of these decisions last week. The US sports broadcaster ESPN reported on a document entitled “Brady – Broadcast Restrictions”.

These bans hit even a legend like the three-time MVP hard. The meetings with coaches and star players before the game are an important factor in the broadcast for the TV crew.

Why the NFL is in a dilemma with Brady

But why is the league apparently silencing the expert Brady? The reason is a conflict of interest that Brady may soon have to face.

The football legend will not only work in TV in the future, but will also become a shareholder in the NFL team Las Vegas Raiders. If the deal goes through, things will become even more complicated for the TV expert.

As (co-)owner of a team, Brady is not allowed to publicly criticize referees or other teams. A real farce – especially since Brady receives a gigantic salary for his TV expertise.

Brady, who is from fox was given a ten-year contract – after taking a year off following the end of his career.

This is Brady’s first game as a TV expert

The NFL legend will be appearing as a TV expert for the first time on Monday night in the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the Cleveland Browns. The fact that his hotly anticipated comeback as a TV expert has now come with such favorable conditions is unlikely to make his employer particularly happy.

But NFL managers and coaches like to guard their internal information and match plans like others guard their gold jewelry. The idea that a co-owner of a rival team would gain insight? Out of the question!

And so the league seems to want to force Brady to make a decision: TV pundit or team owner. He can’t do both. At least not without making huge cuts.

Initially, neither Fox nor the Las Vegas Raiders wanted to comment on the events when asked by ESPN comment.

Brady: Similar case to Olsen

There is a precedent in the NFL, which league spokesman Brian McCarthy referred to: In 2017, Greg Olsen was still under contract with the Carolina Panthers and still commented on some games for fox.

However, at a Minnesota Vikings game, Olsen had to forego insider knowledge because the Vikings’ duel against his Panthers was scheduled to take place shortly afterwards.

Tom Brady faces a similar fate – albeit on a much larger scale.
