Release tomorrow – three new features in MyTEAM

The 2023/24 NBA season ended with the fifth finals game on June 23. At the same time, the Boston Celtics, led by superstar Jayson Tatum (4-1 win after games against the Dallas Mavericks), secured the Larry O’Brien trophy for the 18th time. And although this marked the start of the off-season, basketball fans around the world are excited about NBA 2K25. Less than a month after the end of the season, the first official trailer has already appeared. What if…

Little substance: Gameplay trailer still causes a stir

…he listened to the doubters? Admittedly, NBA 2K25’s reveal video only lasts 30 seconds, which reveals little to nothing about the actual gameplay. However, glorious moments of the three protagonists (Jayson Tatum, A’ja Wilson and Hall of Famer Vince Carter) are staged in such an iconically way that you feel like you already know more about the next court simulation than you actually could.

Even before the trailer is released, 2K has revealed the cover stars: Jayson Tatum graces the standard edition, A’ja Wilson is the face of the WNBA edition and Vince Carter dunks in half-man, half-gold on the Hall of Fame edition. Tatum and Wilson also play together on the All-Star edition.

What awaits you in NBA 2K25

Update from September 4th: In NBA 2K25, there will be three new modes in “MyTEAM”: “Breakout,” “Showdown,” and “King of the Court.”

Update from August 13th: “My CAREER” is also becoming more lively. When creating your athlete in “My PLAYER”, you now have even more freedom, which pays off on the court. New badges and takeover attributes give you the boost you need to decide the match for you and your team.

Update from August 5th: Now you can get a closer look at what awaits you in NBA 2K25. On August 1st, the New York-based game lab will release the first official gameplay trailer, which reveals a lot about the new dribbling engine, customized shots (“Rhythm Shooting”) and defense (“Defensive Movement System”).

Authenticity is the most important building block of a good video game – the developers at Visual Concepts know this too. For this reason, the “Pro Play System” Now even more sophisticated and lets you play your favorite athletes with unprecedented authenticity.

Important to know: “Pro Play” will most likely only be available on next-gen consoles – including the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

In addition, we can expect a revised “MyCAREER” mode, in which you will have new locations to play in, among other things. Of course, “MyTEAM” – something like the counterpart to Ultimate Team from EA Sports – is also back at the party. So 2K’s popular online competition also offers numerous new cards and rewards that you can use to your advantage.

The WNBA is also back in the spotlight: In “The W” you slip into the shoes of a basketball player on PS5, Xbox or PC and write your very own story – both offline and online.
