Analysis of all Raiders games this season

Week 1: At the Los Angeles Chargers September 8, 1:05 p.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Chargers -3.5

The Raiders set a franchise record for points with a 63-21 victory over the Chargers last December. That performance led to the firing of then-Los Angeles general manager Tom Telesco. Las Vegas hired Telesco as its new general manager in the offseason.

Week 2: At the Baltimore Ravens September 15, 10 a.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Ravens -7.5

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson just won the Most Valuable Player award for the second time in his career and should pose a big early challenge for the Raiders defense with his dual-threat ability.

Week 3: Against the Carolina Panthers September 22, 1:05 p.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Robber -4

Las Vegas will be one of the last teams to play their first home game, but at least the Raiders get to do so against a team widely considered one of the worst in the NFL, coming off a 2-15 season.

Week 4: Against the Cleveland Browns September 29, 1:25 p.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Brown tones -1.5

Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett is one of the few defensive players in the league who ranks a notch above Maxx Crosby. The former won last year’s Defensive Player of the Year award while the latter finished fourth.

Week 5: At the Denver Broncos October 6, 1:05 p.m., FOX

Current line: Broncos -1.5

The Raiders have beaten the Broncos in all eight meetings since moving to Las Vegas, including a heartbreaking road loss where three of the four wins came by less than a touchdown.

Week 6: Against Pittsburgh Steelers October 13, 1:05 p.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Select them

Two legendary local high school football players will return to Las Vegas with the Steelers: Tight End Darnell Washington (Desert Pines) and Guard Troy Fautanu (Liberty).

Week 7: At the Los Angeles Rams October 20, 1:05 p.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Aries -5.5

The Raiders’ biggest uncertainty on defense is the cornerback position, and they’ll want to address those questions before facing the Rams’ dynamic receiver duo of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

Week 8: Against the Kansas City Chiefs October 27, 1:25 p.m., CBS/Outstanding+

Current line: Chiefs -5.5

Despite beating the Chiefs twice on the road in the last four years, the Raiders are still waiting for their first win over their archrivals at Allegiant Stadium, where Kansas City has won three of the four meetings by two or more touchdowns.

Week 9: At Cincinnati Bengals November 3, 10am, FOX

Current line: Bengal -7

Somehow, it was less than three years ago that the Raiders only managed to win a playoff road game against the Bengals, who would later reach the Super Bowl, thanks to an interception on the fourth attempt.

Week 10: BYE

Week 11: At Miami Dolphins November 17, 10 a.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Dolphins -6

New defensive tackle Christian Wilkins may have to prove himself against his former team, as he has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay in Miami but the two sides have not been able to agree on a contract agreement.

Week 12: Against Denver Broncos November 24, 1:05 p.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Robber -1.5

The Raiders were widely believed to be interested in selecting a quarterback in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft, but the Broncos picked top pick Bo Nix of Oregon in the final round, finishing one spot ahead of them at No. 12 overall.

Week 13: At the Kansas City Chiefs November 29, 12:00, Prime Video

Current line: Chiefs -7.5

The Raiders’ first standalone television spot of the season will appear during the league’s second annual Black Friday duel.

Week 14: At the Tampa Bay Buccaneers December 8, 10 a.m. on CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Buccaneer -3

The Raiders have only played in Tampa Bay three times in their franchise history and have not lost there since their first meeting – a 20-17 loss in overtime on November 10, 1996.

Week 15: Against Atlanta Falcons December 16, 5:30 p.m., ESPN

Current line: Falcons -1

The pressure is on Las Vegas to remain relevant so late in the season to avoid being knocked out of its only planned Monday Night Football Showpiece of the year.

Week 16: Against the Jacksonville Jaguars December 22, 1:25 p.m., CBS/Paramount+

Current line: Jaguars -1

Las Vegas suffered one of the worst collapses in its history in its last game against Jacksonville, turning a 17-0 lead into a 27-20 loss in Week 9 of the 2022 season, despite 10 catches and 145 yards from receiver Davante Adams.

Week 17: At the New Orleans Saints December 29, 10am, FOX

Current line: Saints -2.5

This should lead to a long-awaited showdown between the Raiders and their best passer of all time, current Saints quarterback Derek Carr, who they unceremoniously cut from the roster ahead of the 2023 season.

Week 18: Against the Los Angeles Chargers Time, date and TV channel to be announced

Current line: Chargers -1

Some Las Vegas fans had hoped the team would fill the vacant coaching position with Jim Harbaugh during the offseason, but the former Raiders quarterback coach had his sights set on Los Angeles from the moment he decided to leave the University of Michigan.
