USI Men’s Basketball Team Schedule Released

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – It’s time to take a look at the USI men’s basketball team’s schedule.

The season begins on November 4 with a visit to DePaul, and USI’s first home game is against Bucknell on November 7. The Screaming Eagles also host South Dakota State on November 22 and welcome the Indiana State Sycamores to Screaming Eagles Arena on November 25.

Away games include trips to Marshall on Nov. 11, Bellarmine on the 13th and Purdue Fort Wayne on Nov. 16. Bellarmine and USI were rivals when they both played in the GLVC. This will be the first time the two teams have met since they both moved up to Division 1. Head coach Stan Gouard said the team wanted to design the schedule to fit their new team.

“That was very important, the guys we have, the schedule we put together, we looked at some of our guys, where they’ve come from and where they are now, and tried to compete with similar opponents. Patience is going to be a virtue for us, but we can’t have too much of it. We’ve told our guys that the bus is going to keep moving with or without them, so it’s up to our guys to catch up and catch up.”
