The US Open men’s singles final takes place this weekend and a new champion will be crowned in Flushing Meadows.

Last year’s winner Novak Djokovic was surprisingly eliminated in the third round and has to give up his title this time.

Djokovic’s exit came after the unexpected exit of Carlos Alcaraz, sending two of the world’s best tennis superstars home early.

This makes world number one Jannik Sinner the favorite, but he will be challenged by Taylor Fritz and Francis Tiafoe.

But British star Jack Draper is also a contender, looking to achieve an incredible feat by continuing his dream campaign at the US Open.

US Open, men’s final: What was said?

Draper is ready to achieve even more “amazing things” after reaching the semifinals of the US Open.

At the first Grand Slam since Andy Murray ended his outstanding career, Draper has announced himself as the new star of British tennis and is taking New York by storm.

With his quarter-final victory against world number ten Alex De Minaur, he became the first Briton to reach the semi-finals at Flushing Meadows since Murray won the title in 2012.

His run here is reminiscent of another British success story, when Emma Raducanu shocked the world with her win in 2021, and Draper is aiming for his own fairytale.

“This doesn’t happen to me overnight,” he said.

“For a long time I was convinced that I had put in my work and done the right things, and I knew my time would come.

“I didn’t know when it would be, but I hope I can do a lot of great things from here. I’m very proud of myself.”

“It’s unbelievable. A dream comes true for me on the biggest court in the world.”

“I have great people around me, I have a good team. I don’t feel intimidated by the situations I’ve been in. It doesn’t bother me in any way.”
