Everyone against the Chiefs! This is what the first match day looks like

United States – Next night it starts! The Kansas City Chiefs have the throne subscription in the National Football League (NFL). They were last Super Bowl-Winner. 31 teams want to stop this run this weekend.

The past regular season was good, but not outstanding for the men around Chiefs head coach Andy Reid (66).

Based on the win-loss statistics alone, they share fifth place with four other teams. Dominance looks different – but that didn’t stop them from defending their title.

For this reason, the other franchises have one main goal: to prevent the defending champions from winning their third consecutive championship – it would be the first time in the NFL if they succeeded.

And the first game day is already an absolute treat for football fans. On Friday night, the Chiefs will host the best team of the regular preseason, the Baltimore Ravens.

In addition to the San Francisco 49ers, the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans, two of the absolute title contenders will collide here at 2:20 a.m.

There is good news for anyone who is worried about a long break until the traditional football Sunday. 24 hours later, on Saturday night from 2:15 a.m., the Green Bay Packers will face the Eagles, who are the home team, in São Paulo.

Curiously, both teams have green in their club colors. However, because the city rival of the stadium’s home football club SC Corinthians – Palmeiras São Paulo – plays in green, wearing this color on the field and apparently also in the stands is prohibited.

The NFL is confident that it can get an exception here. It will be interesting to see what happens.

After the regular games on Sunday, the party between the New York Jets and title runner-up San Francisco ends the first game day on Tuesday night. What there is to look forward to in particular: Jets quarterback and veteran Aaron Rodgers (40) was supposed to play his first game in the New York jersey a year ago.

After only a few minutes on the field, he tore his Achilles tendon during a QB sack – season over. The guy will be hot as a fudge for a (real) debut.

We traditionally save our crystal ball gazing for the play-offs. But since we don’t have a meaningful table yet, I want to allow us to have some fun at the start.
