“Sleep Divorce”: This is what the marriage trend is all about

Amanda and Nathan Devan, who both work and have two young children, have decided to have a “sleep divorce.” They sleep in separate beds and share the next tasks.

Amanda explained in an interview with the online platform “Whatsthejam”: “Nathan and I were no longer rested and happy. We had to change something.” By having a coordinated schedule, with Amanda taking over from one in the morning and Nathan working from eight in the morning, both were able to get enough sleep.

Amanda said, “I was so much happier and was able to pay more attention to my children and husband.” The couple considers this method a “lifesaver” and recommends it to other parents. After their youngest child began sleeping through the night better, they returned to having a shared bedtime routine. Amanda stressed that a well-rested mother can better care for her children. This view is shared by other couples, as shown by numerous videos on TikTok in which married couples share their experiences with “sleep divorce.”
