A Minecraft movie: Teaser reveals Minecraft adaptation

Erkunden, graben, bauen – in Minecraft there is always something to do. But soon fans of the computer game will be able to sit back with a bag of popcorn and enjoy the Minecraft adventure on the big screen. At least that is what the recently released trailer by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures promises.[–>Teaser to the video game adaptation “A Minecraft Movie”. Minecraft trifft auf reale Menschen

Zunächst entführt der Teaser in eine gewohnt bunte pixelartige Landschaft. Neben einem Creeper, einem Schaf sowie einem Lama scheinen sich aber auch echte Menschen in die “Minecraft”-Welt verirrt zu haben. Zu sehen sind jede Menge Hollywood-Stars wie Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Jason Momoa oder Sebastian Eugene Hansen. In ihren Filmrollen “haben sie mit ganz normalen Problemen zu kämpfen, als sie plötzlich durch ein mysteriöses Portal in die Overworld gezogen werden: ein bizarres, kubisches Wunderland, das von der Fantasie lebt”, verrät die Videobeschreibung of the teaser.

Kinostart im April 2025

Dort tritt das Quartett angeblich gegen “Minecraft”-typische Bösewichte wie Piglins oder Zombies an – und treffen dabei auf einen Handwerker namens Steve, played by Jack Black. The clip naturally leaves open how their journey will progress. Clarity should be achieved by April 3, 2025 at the latest, when “A Minecraft Movie” hits the big screen in Germany. Then it will also become clear whether the film adaptation can convince the “Minecraft” community. A look at the comment section below the teaser shows that the first reactions are rather poor. The main criticism is the mix of animation and real people.
