Pranjali Dhumal wins bronze at the Deaf Shooting World Championship

Pranjali Dhumal won a bronze medal in the women’s 25-meter pistol competition at the World Deaf Shooting Championships in Hanover on Tuesday.

Dhumal set both a world record for the deaf and a championship record by qualifying for the final with 571 points.

In a thrilling final, Dhumal secured bronze by hitting three of five shots in the eighth series, narrowly beating Croatia’s Lana Skeledzija by one point with a final score of 29 points. Ukrainian shooters Sofiia Olenych and Halyna Mosina won gold and silver respectively.

Other Indian participants included Anuya Prasad, who finished fifth in the final with 21 points after qualifying with 558 points, and Vedika Sharma, who scored 473 points in the qualifying round. India’s medal tally at the tournament now stands at three gold, six silver and four bronze.
