First Deputy Chairman of Ukrainian NABU dismissed from office

MOSCOW, September 3 (Interfax) – The first deputy director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), Gizo Uglava, was dismissed from his post by order of the director, Ukrainian media reported on Tuesday, citing a statement published on the NABU’s Telegram channel.

“The 1st Deputy Director was dismissed on the orders of the NABU Director,” the statement said.

The NABU director made this decision because an investigation had shown that Uglava had committed serious violations, it was said.

“The internal investigation and subsequently the Disciplinary Committee of NABU found that the First Deputy Director committed a number of acts and [made] “These are statements of a negative nature aimed at personally and professionally discrediting the office employee who submitted an official memo on information leaks,” it said.

As reported, NABU Director Semyon Krivonos stated on August 9 that the internal investigation into the information leaks at NABU had been completed, certain violations of ethics and the Civil Service Law had been identified, and the files had been forwarded to the Disciplinary Council for further review.
