FC 25: The new icons – From the golf course back to the field

EA SPORTS has introduced eight new icons for FC 25.

For just one year, fans of EA SPORTS football simulations had to wait Gareth Bale The Welshman was last depicted as a professional for Los Angeles Galaxy in FIFA 23, but in FC 25 he returns after retiring – as a new icon for Ultimate Team. The developer has given the former offensive player’s FUT special card an overall rating of 88 in the new title. Bale was playable between FIFA 23 and FC 25 – but only as a golfer in PGA Tour 2K23.

In addition to the former Real Madrid player, EA SPORTS announced seven more new icons on Tuesday, with Gianluigi Buffon already confirmed. From a German perspective, the inclusion of Nadine Angerer remarkable in the illustrated ranks of football legends. The former goalkeeper was the goalkeeper of the German women’s national team from 1996 to 2015. She was world champion in 2003 and 2007, and European and World Footballer of the Year in 2013. With 92 points for the overall digital rating, Angerer is the best-rated new icon card for FC 25.

Five iconic women, three men

“Natze”, as the former goalkeeper is called, is followed by her position colleague Buffon (91), the US-American Julie Foudythe Japanese Aya Miyama and the Swede Lotta Schelin. The women’s quintet among the new icons is rounded off by the Frenchwoman Marinette Pichon (89). The last new card is given to her compatriot Lilian Thuram (88), who became world and European champion with the Equipe Tricolore.

The values ​​for the individual attributes are not yet officially known; EA SPORTS only presented the overall ratings of the new icons. FC 25 will be released worldwide on September 27th, and the game will be available in Early Access from September 20th.
