FRITZ!Box 7590 AX, 7590 and 7530 are supplied with power

FRITZ!Box 7590 AX, 7590 and 7530 are supplied with power

Busy day at AVM. New FRITZ!Box, new repeaters, news from the Smart Home and now laboratory versions for the FRITZ!Box 7590 AX, 7590 and 7530 are coming. As always, they are starting a test run with FRITZ!OS 7.90.x, which is in preparation for FRITZ!OS 8. The big innovations are already in place, now it’s time to put the finishing touches on it, for example, this looks like this for the 7590 AX:

Internet:
Fixed When connecting the FRITZ!Box to an external modem or router, the line “Port forwarding” was not hidden in the online monitor when the Internet connection was shared (IP client mode)
Fixed When the language setting was “English”, the date format was not consistently adjusted in the online monitor
Fixed In WireGuard® LAN-LAN connections, DNS name resolution and assignment of AAAA records may not work under IPv6
Fixed In the IPv6 settings, the IPv6 prefix of the home network was sometimes not displayed under “used prefixes”
WiFi:
Fixed Turning Wi-Fi on/off while scanning the 5 GHz band for radar coverage (DFS) caused a reboot
Mesh fabric:
In rare cases, the Mesh function was not activated when connecting a FRITZ!Repeater by pressing a button

As always, testers get the fun directly via the box, newcomers via avm.de/labor

Note for users who do not use a lab version but want to try it out:

  1. Read and confirm the information displayed on the AVM lab page for your FRITZ!Box.
  2. Click “Download” and save the file to your computer.
  3. Unpack the lab file (*.zip).
  4. Perform the update via the FRITZ!Box user interface and select “View: Advanced” in the footer.
  5. Select “System / Update” in the menu.
  6. Select the “FRITZ!OS file” tab. Save the settings of your FRITZ!Box. You must also confirm that you want to execute the operation.
  7. Use “Select file” to select the firmware file that you previously downloaded.
  8. Click on “Start Update”.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions.

During the update process, the “Info” LED on the FRITZ!Box flashes. This happens when the update process is complete. Be patient, this process can take a few minutes. As soon as the update is complete, the FRITZ!Box will restart and will then be ready for use again.
