Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP: Day One patch confirmed

Shortly before the release of the remaster, the developers at Dragami Games gave us an information update on “Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP”. This revolves around the new features offered by the RePOP mode and the day-one update.

Next week, the action title originally released in 2012 returns “Lollipop Chainsaw” in a technically and gameplay-wise polished form on the PC and the current consoles.

Shortly before the release, the developers at Dragami Games provided further information about the remaster. The Japanese studio announced that before you start “Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP” for the first time, you should first download and install the day-one update. According to Dragami Games, this will not be particularly extensive.

Instead of the day-one patch, only minor bugs will be fixed and the ranked mode will be improved.

What new features await in RePOP mode?

In “Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP” you can tackle the adventure of young Juliet in two different versions. In addition to the original mode, which recreates the gaming experience of that time, there is also the eponymous RePOP mode. Here, the action of “Lollipop Chainsaw” is not only presented in more colorful and with new effects.

In addition, the developers made improvements in the gameplay area and brought “Lollipop Chainsaw” up to date. Dragami Games explains the adjusted parameters: “These include attack power, movement speed, camera movement range, acceptance time for combo inputs and initial combo skills.”

“Other changes include the number of shots remaining in the blaster and changes to the behavior of Nick’s special moves.”

You can also let the quick-time events (QTEs) run automatically. Other adjustments include “changing the ranked mode to a time attack that runs through all levels, changes to the item layout in the shop, price adjustments, and adding a chain attack system.”

The old consoles will be supplied with power later

At the beginning of August, Dragami Games pulled the release of “Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP” for the PC and the current consoles little beforeThe remaster will be released on September 12, 2024 in digital form for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch. A physical version will follow as usual in October.

Also appearing at a later date the implementations for the PS4 and Xbox OneDragami Games has not yet given a specific date. Instead, those responsible for the spin-offs for the old consoles only spoke of a planned digital release in November.
