Waldinger artist Günter Kada wins Tips online voting

WALDING. The results of the Tips “Art for All” voting, in which readers could choose their favorite works of art online, are in. A total of over 24,658 votes were cast for the works. The winner is Günter Kada from Walding, followed by Hubert Schatz from Braunau and another artist from the Urfahr-Umgebung district, Sandra Hraba (Engerwitzdorf), in third place.

Together with Potentials OÖ, Tips searched for the most popular works of art by Upper Austrian artists. Günter Kada confidently won the competition with his work “A Dream”. Born in Linz in 1962, Kada has lived in Walding since 2005. “A good 40 years ago, the works of the old masters such as Van Gogh and Monet inspired me to start painting myself,” the self-taught artist explains his career as an artist. “So oil paint was the medium I chose at the beginning to put my ideas on canvas.”

For about eight years, the focus of his work has shifted to the use of the airbrush. “This gave me new, interesting design options,” enthuses the Waldinger resident. “My search for something unique and new, something never seen before, was reflected in the cycles of my works.” This resulted in landscapes or alleys reduced to two colors in oil, reflective oil paintings that change their appearance depending on the incidence of light, or apocalyptic representations of the four elements.” The works exhibited in the online voting were airbrushed on Dibond panels – three-layer aluminum composite panels – (see pictures above and below left). Using the fine spray technique in several layers, Kada tries to depict the surface of the wooden marionette in a lively and realistic way: “My marionettes embody moods and life situations.” Society and the social environment pull on our strings and thus influence our actions and our being.”

Third place goes to Sandra Hraba

The talent of the artists in the Urfahr-Umgebung district is impressive: two of the top three places went to artists in the district. In addition to gold for Günter Kada from Walding, another place on the winners’ podium went to Engerwitzdorf. Sandra Hraba took third place with her colorful art, inspired by the Aborigines. She delighted Tips readers with her work “Geckos and Cranes”.
