Tips presented: The Wolfgangseelauf is stormed

ST. WOLFGANG. The Wolfgangseelauf, the oldest running competition in Upper Austria, is now in its 52nd edition. Registrations are already at record levels weeks before the start.

Before the 52nd edition of Upper Austria’s oldest race, 3,000 registrations have already been received. This year, the Walk the Lake, the 27-kilometer classic (1,300 registrations already) and the marathon – which was named “Austria’s most beautiful marathon” in spring 2024 – are particularly popular. A total of 5,500 registrations from 45 nations are expected.

Perfect mix

Hobby runners will be there just as much as experienced runners. 2,500 runners will be taking part in the 5.2-kilometer panorama run and the 10-kilometer shore run alone. Women will make up more than half of the field in the walk, as well as the 5.2-kilometer and 10-kilometer runs. And we must not forget the 500 girls and boys born in 2011 and later who will be taking part in the junior marathon on the Strobl lake promenade on October 19.

Everyone is welcome

Five two-year-old girls and boys are registered for the Junior Marathon, as is 91-year-old Josy Simon, who started the 10-kilometer shore run with the number 5,000. Everyone is happy to take part in the Wolfgangsee Run. Information and discounted pre-registration (until October 17): www.wolfgangseelauf.at
