“At the beginning of the tournament, it was not easy to find my rhythm. But it feels like I am getting better day by day,” said the 2022 title winner after the victory.

Swiatek was flawless on her own serve and didn’t allow her opponents a break point. When the score was 5:4 in the first set, she broke Samsonova’s serve for the first time and managed to break again straight away at the start of the second set. After 1:30 hours, she converted the match point.
