Marie Gabler (Katharina Wackernagel) wakes up in a panic from a nightmare: Gisbert (Kai Schumann) is dead! But there is plenty to do in reality too: her ex-husband’s divorce papers have arrived, and Heino (Sebastian Schwarz) and Jenny (Eva Bühnen) are pushing for the obligatory shooting training. Right now, when she is struggling with inner conflicts, Gisbert wants to clarify the relationship and demands a declaration of love from her. When Marie hesitates and Gisbert runs away disappointed, a serious accident occurs – has the nightmare now become reality? A thief (Richard Madden) involuntarily finds himself in a tricky situation when he steals a woman’s bag and later leaves it in a busy place. Shortly afterwards, an explosion occurs with fatal consequences. CIA agent Sean Briar (Idris Elba) pursues the alleged assassin, but soon begins to doubt his guilt. He does everything he can to find the real masterminds behind the attack and in doing so uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy.

Carsten Niemeyer (Mario Klischies) falls to his death from the balcony while viewing an apartment. None of the other applicants will have noticed anything. The “strong team” begins to investigate. Otto (Florian Martens) and Linett (Stefanie Stappenbeck) find out that Niemeyer was promised the apartment on site after he bribed the estate agent. The investigators suspect that revenge could be the motive. Shortly afterwards, a daycare center manager who was responsible for allocating scarce daycare places is murdered.

Marty (Beau Knapp) works for a large bank on Wall Street. Because he took his work too seriously, a lucrative deal fell through, and Marty is sent back to his rural home as punishment.
