Culinary partnerships – Successful start of the “Producer Arena”

Culinary partnerships – Successful start of the “Producer Arena”

The NÖN reported in advance: A new “producer arena” is intended to bring the region to the table according to the motto “Farmer seeks chef – chef seeks farmer”, the kick-off of which has now taken place in the premises of Litschau Castle.

In her opening speech, co-initiator Amelie Seilern-Aspang emphasized the importance of cooperation and trust in regional food production and gastronomy. “Only through close cooperation can the culinary uniqueness of the region be highlighted and set itself apart from the competition,” she said: “Communicating on an equal footing and building long-term, trusting relationships – that is the key to success.”

Increase added value, ensure supplies. Following Dominik Flammer’s tried and tested concept, the aim was to introduce producers to the numerous restaurateurs who attended. Stronger networking is intended to increase the added value of regional products and enable the catering trade to benefit from guaranteed supplies – for example by making it possible to calculate which products are available when and when they are fresh. Availability lists are intended to help producers plan the availability of products throughout the year and at the same time give chefs the opportunity to approach producers specifically and discuss orders.

Together, we aim to ensure that the reputation of the culinary arts spreads even further beyond the northern Waldviertel.

4-toque chef on respect, trust and reliability. A highlight was the participation of 4-toque chef Klemens Schraml from Großraming, who reported on his many years of experience in working with producers. Schraml stressed the importance of mutual respect, trust and reliability in such partnerships in order to attract an international audience.

Due to the positive response to the launch event and intensive discussions, these meetings will be held every six months at various producers’ premises in order to get to know their farms and working methods.
