Police vehicle was damaged during investigation – Two women are suspected

– A police car on fire; investigation underway, two people involved.

Two police patrol cars caught fire in Dortmund, which led to investigations against two young women. According to the police report, the flames, which were discovered in the morning hours, were successfully contained and extinguished with fire extinguishers. Traces of an arson attack were also discovered on a third patrol car.

Further analysis of security cameras at the police station led to the temporary arrest of two women, both 20 years old, at the main station. There is currently no evidence of political or religious motivation, police confirmed. Investigations are ongoing.

A patrol car suffered severe damage to the engine compartment as a result of the fire. Preliminary police estimates suggest that the total damage could amount to around 60,000 euros.

The people who were temporarily detained are reportedly being questioned about their involvement in the damaged patrol cars. Despite the damage to one patrol car, all other patrol cars are still in use.
