Donovan McNabb unveils his Mount Rushmore of the best NFL quarterbacks of all time

Donovan McNabb unveils his Mount Rushmore of the best NFL quarterbacks of all time

Throughout the history of sports, the debate about who the best players are is always controversial. Everyone has an opinion on it, right or wrong.

In the NFL, quarterbacks are the first players considered to be the best of all time. The quarterback position is one of the most important in sports and has taken on a whole new life of its own over the years.

One of the better quarterbacks in the NFL over the last 20 years has been Donovan McNabb. McNabb knows what it means to win games in the NFL, and he has done it at an extremely high level.

But which quarterbacks are on McNabb’s Mount Rushmore? He spoke with John Robinson IV and Doug McKain of LA Sports Report and gave his thoughts on the question.

“In no particular order: Joe Montana, Tom Brady, John Elway and Warren Moon.”

McNabb’s list is interesting and actually contains some names that are familiar from most people’s lists.

Brady is arguably the GOAT of the NFL, having won seven Super Bowl titles during his long career, six of which came as a member of the New England Patriots and his most recent title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Montana was already considered the GOAT before Brady’s career. He won four Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers and was named Super Bowl MVP three times. Montana also won the MVP award twice during his career and made it to the Pro Bowl eight times.

Elway helped the Denver Broncos win two Super Bowls and was named Super Bowl MVP once. He appeared in nine Pro Bowls and was named MVP in 1987.

Moon is probably the most controversial player on his roster, but he made nine Pro Bowls in his career, was the NFL’s all-time passing yardage leader in 1990 and 1991, and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

However, McNabb conspicuously did not have star Patrick Mahomes on his list. He did say, however, that if Mahomes had a few more successful seasons, he would be on top of Mount Rushmore.

“Another four to five successful years. He has achieved a lot early on, but if he does this consistently over a longer period of time, he will cement his place.”

That’s a lot of praise for Mahomes, but he deserves it. He’s already won three Super Bowls and three MVP awards. His next NFL chapter is still being written, and he has a chance to end up being the GOAT.
