The second round of the 2024/25 men’s DFB Cup is scheduled to take place from October 29 to 30. 32 teams are still in the race for the title. Which clubs will face each other in the next round of the cup will be decided on Sunday, September 1.

Lucky draw for the defending champion: Bayer Leverkusen will host the football-Second division team SV Elversberg. Record winner FC Bayern Munich has to travel to FSV Mainz 05. It is one of only four Bundesliga games, which also include Eintracht Frankfurt against Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfL Wolfsburg against Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig against FC St. Pauli. This was the result of the match in Dortmund.

As the only fourth division team still in the competition, Kickers Offenbach enjoy home advantage against second division Karlsruher SC, as do third division Arminia Bielefeld against Union Berlin and Dynamo Dresden against Darmstadt 98. DFB-Pokal 2024/25: 2nd round draw on 1 September on TV and live stream on ZDF

The draw was broadcast on the “sportstudio live” programme in ZDF between 5:10 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The lucky draw was conducted by 3×3 basketball Olympic champion Sonja Greinacher. The event can also be viewed as a live stream in the ZDF media library. Before that, the reigning runner-up VfB Stuttgart (on Tuesday, August 27th, at Preußen Münster) and double winner Bayer Leverkusen (on Wednesday, August 28th, at Carl Zeiss Jena) will complete the first round of the cup.
