Raipur: In a Suicide pact a congress leader and his Family consisting of his wife and two sons, is said to have taken poison in Chhattisgarh‘s Janjgir-Champa district and ended her life. Relatives of the deceased claimed that the family ended her life due to the increasing Debt burden.
The police have registered the case and launched an investigation, but the exact reason behind her decision to take poison remains unknown, said Vivek Shukla, SP of Janjgir-Champa.
He said Panchram Yadav, 66, former district secretary of Congress, his wife Dinesh Nandini Yadav, 55, and their two sons Suraj Yadav, 27, and Neeraj Yadav, 32, had consumed poison together on Friday. All four were admitted to the district hospital in Janjgir-Champa from where they were referred to Bilaspur. Tragically, all the family members died on Saturday during treatment, Shukla said.
It is believed that the family took this drastic step due to their mounting debts. Before committing suicide, they reportedly locked the main gate of the house from the outside to avoid detection and switched off their mobile phones.
According to sources, a neighbourhood girl who frequently visited the Congress leader’s house found the main gate locked from outside around noon on Friday. Worried, she went to the back door and shouted but got no response. Suspecting something was wrong, she informed others after which the main door was opened and the four were found unconscious. An FSL team was immediately sent to the scene and all were rushed to the hospital.
