In season two, Uber’s F-fire continues to burn.

– The story of the second season will also experience an outbreak.

About a year ago, the popular US series “Fire Country” premiered in Germany, honoring the selflessness of real firefighters in a mix of action, sadness and drama. Starting September 2, main character and reluctant hero Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot, 35) returns when the second season of the CBS series starts on Universal TV in Germany and continues the success of the first while breaking new ground. Undoubtedly, this means not only putting out real fires, but also numerous interpersonal conflicts in the ten new episodes.

From prison to flame runner and back – where the first season ended

Prison inmate Bode Donovan has often risked his life as a temporary firefighter for a fire department, proving that he has a noble heart despite a questionable past. The prison program that grants inmates like him future release if they join a fire department seems to be working. Or is it?

For Bode, the supposed quest for heroism turned into a vicious cycle – at the end of the first season, he was back in prison after serving time for a drug crime to protect a friend. Bode seems to have come to terms with his imprisonment at the start of the new episodes. But then a catastrophic earthquake hits his hometown of Edgewater, and the brave men and women of Fire Station 42 must fight against the devastation it brings.

Problem after problem

Bittersweet news: unlike the first season, which paid tribute to the classic series with its 22 episodes of around 45 minutes each, the second season returns to its standard length. This means that with ten episodes, it is less than half as long as the previous season. On the one hand, this means the loss of a weekly television broadcast, but on the other hand, it also has its advantages. The plot is freed from unnecessary dramatic length and has to focus on the essentials.

This includes action-packed missions and personal dramas for the main characters. The latter is the work of Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, who created “Fire Country” with lead actor Thieriot and previously worked on series such as “Grey’s Anatomy”. And the legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer (80) keeps a keen eye on the series and ensures plenty of spectacle.

More fire and a growing world

“Fire Country” is a television wildfire in more ways than one. Not only has CBS commissioned a third season, but the first spin-off series “Sheriff Country” is also planned for the 2025/2026 season. The basis for this is a character that German fans of the series will get to know: “Deadpool” star Morena Baccarin (45) will play Sheriff Mickey Fox of Edgewater in the second season of “Fire Country”. The spin-off will revolve around her character and, like the “Law & Order” or “NCIS” universes, will probably contain some crossover episodes.

But it’s not over yet, as reported by the US industry website “Deadline”. Even for the confirmed third season, a big name has already been signed up as a guest star and potential spin-off lead. Jared Padalecki (42), whose series “Walker” has just ended, will reportedly wear the Edgewater firefighter uniform in three episodes. Given his star potential, it is assumed that his guest role, like Baccarin’s, will serve as a springboard for his own series.

Still, mark September 2nd in your calendar – Universal TV will re-air the first two episodes of the season of “Fire Country” every Monday at 8:15 p.m. All episodes will also be available on demand.
