Practical for the cold season: Affordable thermal imaging camera available from Monday at Lidl

Leaky windows, radiator niches, poorly insulated heating pipes – there are many places in apartments and houses where energy can be wasted. The easiest way to find cold bridges is with a thermal imaging camera. Conversely, it can be used just as quickly to find parts that overheat during operation – such as electronics.

However, thermal imaging cameras are anything but cheap and often start at just under 200 euros. Lidl offers a much cheaper entry-level model. From September 2nd, the discounter will be offering an inexpensive thermal imaging camera in its stores, and it is already available in the online shop. At 79.99 euros, the thermal imaging camera from Parkside is a real bargain.

It offers a 2.8-inch display with automatic hot/cold spot detection. There are a total of 1,024 measuring points. If you wish, you can also take photos and videos. The image can be displayed in four different color palettes: IRON Red (red) / Color RGB / Grayscale (white heat) / Grayscale (black heat).

In addition, the camera offers an adjustable emissivity for precise measurement of different surfaces. Thanks to IP54 certification, it is protected against dust and water and can also be attached to a tripod thanks to the 1/4 inch thread.
