An armed man was shot dead by special police forces in Berlin on Saturday. According to current information, the 46-year-old initially threatened a 49-year-old with a weapon on a caravan site in Nikolassee, according to a joint statement from the police and the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The 49-year-old managed to drive away the attackers and call the police. He followed the 46-year-old and observed him as he believed he was in an apartment building.

The emergency services then went to the man’s apartment. When he did not open the door, they reportedly gained access to the apartment with a court order.
