REED. The UVC McDonald’s Ried starts the new season on Friday, 6th and Saturday, 7th September with the motto “Übanachtig” with a 24-hour tournament and a tent festival in and near the Raiffeisen Volleydome.

The wine festival begins on Friday at 6 p.m. with exquisite wines, the live band Medium and DJ Martin Q. The festival continues with a morning pint on Sunday from 10 a.m., where the Ried town band plays and the Bundesliga team is introduced. There is also a sports program, fun games and a photo booth.

24-hour tournament

The tournament is open to 24 mixed teams of four (at least two women), who will complete the preliminary round in 2×12-minute matches and then compete for the tournament prizes in the “Guad” and “Bessa” categories. Prize money of 320 and 500 euros respectively is up for grabs – and of course plenty of sport and fun.

Registration

Teams of four with at least two women on the field are allowed to play. The slightly modified rules offer strategic advantages to teams with three women and a male setter, for example.

Registration takes place at www-uvc-ried.at. The entry fee is 80 euros.www.uvc-ried.at
