Manuel Ugarte moves from PSG to Manchester United on Deadline Day

United had been trying to sign the Uruguayan international all summer, but negotiations with the French club dragged on.

According to reports, the two teams agreed on a €50 million transfer fee earlier this week, plus a further €10 million in potential bonuses, allowing Ugarte to move on the last day of the transfer window.

As the English club confirmed, Ugarte has signed a contract until 2029 with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

“It’s an incredible feeling to join a club of this size, admired all over the world,” the player said on the club’s website. “The project that the club’s management has discussed with me is very exciting.” Manchester United is an ambitious club and I am an ambitious player.

Ugarte continued: “The passion of the fans is something that is very important to me: I know how incredible the United fans are and I can’t wait to experience Old Trafford. I am someone who is determined to succeed: I will sacrifice myself and give everything for my teammates. Together we will fight to win trophies and reach the level that this club deserves.
