With the support of a grant from FedEx, RMI developed GridUp to better predict energy and power requirements for charging electric vehicles.

RMI recently released GridUp, a publicly available, state-of-the-art tool that helps utilities predict when and where energy and power demand will arise from vehicle electrification. The GridUp tool can predict electric vehicle (EV) power demand at the census block level, giving decision makers the detailed information they need to quickly, effectively and reliably upgrade the grid to meet the increasing demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure for the first time.
