Officers investigate fatal accident on Epping Road

At around 9.35am on Tuesday 27 August, officers were called to a collision at the junction of Epping Road and Coopersale Common involving a white Toyota Prius and a blue Humber vehicle.

The two men in the Humber, the 81-year-old driver and the 79-year-old passenger, were both taken to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries.

Sadly, despite all medical efforts, the passenger has since died.

Essex Police are appealing for witness statements and dashcam footage.

Det Sgt Alex Black, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our officers are already conducting a number of enquiries to establish the facts of Tuesday morning.”

“Any dashcam footage from the accident scene this morning could be vital to our work, so please contact us if you have any information.

“If you saw these vehicles before the collision or know anything that could assist our investigation, please come forward.
