USC Rappottenstein wins 2-0 against UFC Arbesbach – Football Lower Austria – Results, tables and scorers from all Lower Austria leagues.

In the third round of the 2nd class Waldviertel Zentral (Lower Austria), USC Rappottenstein met UFC Arbesbach in front of around 300 spectators and managed to score an important 2-0 victory. Union Sportclub Rappottenstein took the lead in the first half with a goal from Stefan Kropik, before David Stastny made it 2-0 in the second half. Despite a few chances on both sides, no further goals were scored.

Intensive initial phase with opportunities for Rappottenstein

The game began with a powerful start from USC Rappottenstein. In the 6th minute, Mathias Hinterndorfer made a brilliant save and prevented the home team from taking an early lead. Just two minutes later, a Rappottenstein player hit the crossbar and missed the lead again.

The UFC Arbesbach defense appeared unsure during this phase. In the 15th minute, David Stastny had a free shot and only hit the post. It was clear that a goal for Rappottenstein was only a matter of time. However, Arbesbach was able to stabilize and had its first notable chance in the 38th minute through Sebastian Grudl, who shot the ball just wide of the goal.

However, the guests’ efforts were not crowned with success. Shortly before half-time, USC Rappottenstein scored a well-deserved 1-0 lead. Stefan Kropik took advantage of the opportunity, ran unopposed and pushed the ball into the goal. The team went into the break with this lead.

Exciting second half

The second half of the game began and USC Rappottenstein continued its offensive efforts. In the 50th minute, David Stastny increased the lead to 2-0. Another defensive error by the visitors allowed Stastny to push the ball over the line.

UFC Arbesbach now tried to catch up, but USC Rappottenstein’s defense stood firm. Rappottenstein kept getting chances, as was the case in the 53rd and 75th minutes when Hinterndorfer again kept the score within limits with brilliant saves.

The guests repeatedly came dangerously close to the goal, but their finishes were not convincing enough. So the game petered out in the final minutes without either team posing a serious threat again.

The final whistle confirmed USC Rappottenstein’s well-deserved 2-0 victory. The home team put in a convincing performance and secured their next win of the season thanks to goals from Stefan Kropik and David Stastny. However, Arbesbach must accept the criticism of having allowed too many chances and not taking advantage of the few opportunities they had.
