Fair in Verl

Friday, August 30th to Sunday, September 1st

For three days, the Verler town center is transformed into a colorful festival and fairground. There are various rides, food and drink stands and lots of live music. The highlights include the opening show on Friday from 11.45 a.m., the “Happy Hour” on the rides on Saturday between 2 and 4 p.m., the open-air festival “Baseball Rocks!” and the large children’s and youth flea market on all three days on Wilhelmstrasse. This weekend, the most colorful festival of the year will take place in Gütersloh city center. More than 40 clubs will present themselves in front of the town hall and show how diverse the Dalkestadt is. Folklore, music and dance groups as well as artists from Turkey, Greece, Spain, Albania, Portugal, Thailand, Ukraine, Romania, Gambia, Bulgaria, Russia and of course Germany will be on the Sparkasse stage. “We are particularly proud of this festival here in Gütersloh because it sends a very clear message for an open and intercultural urban society,” says Frank Mertens, the integration officer for the city of Gütersloh. The colorful 2000s will be celebrated at the Gütersloh weaving mill this weekend. From 11 p.m.From hip hop by Eminem, 50 Cent and Usher to rock by Mando Diao, the Killers and Linkin Park, everything that makes the 2000s heart beat faster was played. German rock by Wir sind Helden, Juli and Sportfreunde Stiller or sons by Lady Gaga, Tokio Hotel and co. were also included.
